Girona Costa Brava airport expands connectivity with Ryanair

Ryanair has expanded its network from Girona-Costa Brava Airport with the launch of three new European routes. Since April, the airline has been operating flights to Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Ostrava (Czech Republic), and Lublin (Poland), enhancing the airport’s connectivity and reinforcing its role as a key access point to north-eastern Spain.

All three routes have recorded strong passenger loads since their launch, highlighting the demand and growing interest in these connections — both from inbound visitors and local travellers seeking new European destinations.

These new routes represent a valuable opportunity for both leisure and business travel:

  • Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, offers a rich cultural tapestry shaped by centuries of Eastern and Western influences.

  • Ostrava, located in the industrial and cultural core of the Czech Republic, is known for its dynamic urban energy and year-round events.

  • Lublin, in eastern Poland, is a charming historical city with a well-preserved medieval heritage.

With these additions, Ryanair continues to diversify travel options from Girona, reinforcing its commitment to regional connectivity and European expansion.

The launch of these routes also underscores Girona Airport’s strategic position within the European aviation network. The surrounding Costa Brava and Girona region offers strong year-round appeal. From beaches and nature to cultural tourism, gastronomy and winter activities.

These new connections mark an important step in boosting the destination’s visibility and supporting sustainable tourism growth in the area.
